1. Faculty Recruitment, Retention, and Expanded Subspecialty Expertise
Despite a Radiologist shortage and a national draw on academic radiologists to the private sector, a former Hospital for Special Surgery Musculoskeletal fellow Theodore T. Miller, MD was recruited and joined our staff in October. He is a Board Certified Radiologist and brings years of experience and subspecialty expertise in fluoroscopy and ultrasound guided interventional procedures to the HSS Radiologists, an already exceptional – one of a kind – Radiology Faculty.
2. Staff Growth
In order to address the current and projected growth and service expectations, the Department of Radiology and Imaging has increased by 31 individuals. Several new positions have been added for a staff of over 200 people.

State of the Art audiovisual Observation room created to permit simultaneous observation and capture real time US examinations
- Musculoskeletal Ultrasound library/teaching file of routine, complex, and rare cases being archived and catalogued
- Musculoskeletal curriculum for NYU Ultrasound Sonographers School students established at HSS

- Two additional MR units, 1.5T and 3T with State of the Art gradient performance, being sited
- All existing 1.5T MRI platforms upgraded to new State of the Art performance
