Sherri Birchansky , M.D.
Chief, Division of Neuro-Imaging
Dr. Sherri B. Birchansky is a Board Certified Radiologist and is among a select few with subspecialty Board Certification and formal fellowships, in both Neuroradiology and Pediatric Radiology. Prior to coming to HSS she was the section head of CT and MRI at Miami Children's Hospital. As her interests in musculoskeletal MRI evolved, she committed a year as a dedicated Musculoskeletal MRI Fellow at HSS.
Dr. Birchansky is a senior member of the American Society of Neuroradiology, founding member of the American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology, member of the Society of Pediatric Radiology as well as many additional nationally recognized medical societies. She has authored numerous radiology journal articles, lectured on a variety of MRI topics, been a contributing author to neuroimaging textbooks and served as editorial board reviewer for the American Journal of Neuroradiology. She has been named in the 2002-2003 Guide to America's Top Radiologists and America's Top Physicians.
Dr. Birchansky's areas of interest include advanced musculoskeletal MRI and Neuro-Imaging. She has additional expertise in pediatric, metabolic and neuromuscular disorders, scoliosis and congenital spinal anomalies, neurological manifestations of rheumatologic disorders, neurodegenerative and demyelinating diseases. As a hobby, she enjoys drawing medical cartoons, which have been published in the American Journal of Neuroradiology.
