Dr. Ronald S. Adler is a Board-Certified Radiologist specializing in Musculoskeletal Radiology since 1989. He has published 91 investigative original research articles, seven book chapters, and one book. He has an advanced degree in Nuclear Engineering in addition to his medical training. His proven research experience includes theoretical chemistry and nuclear medicine. Current research interests include applications of ultrasound to the detection of early changes of osteoarthritis in articular cartilage. Currently, he is investigating the application of quantitative techniques to estimate soft tissue blood flow in pathological states of the musculoskeletal system. Dr. Adler is a co-developer of Power Doppler Imaging, a relatively new form of ultrasonic blood flow detection methods. Dr. Adler has been funded for his cartilage related work by the Arthritis Institute of the NIH and is nationally and internationally recognized for his expertise in the application of Ultrasound to the musculoskeletal system.
